Professional Profile
Eric McCants has served as a Georgia law enforcement officer for over 14 years, primarily in the Augusta area. His experience includes serving as a uniformed patrol officer, a sergeant of narcotics investigations, and a leader of crime suppression teams. Additionally, he served as a lieutenant, overseeing the Special Operations Division while remaining active with the SWAT team. Currently, he holds the position of Sergeant on the Crime Suppression Team (CST) at the Richmond County Sheriff's Office. Eric holds a Master's degree in Administration of Justice and Security, and his extensive practical experience has been further enhanced through his work in the field and collaboration with fellow officers.
Eric expanded his professional focus by starting to facilitate “Leading with Grace” workshops/speaking engagements. This decision arose from his observation of many leaders using leadership styles that lacked empathy, focus, and clearly defined solutions. Today, Eric utilizes his “Leading with Grace” model to teach participants how to set expectations, coach performance, correct with care, and model vulnerability. He presents at conferences, roll calls, Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) meetings, churches, and other venues where audiences seek practical, effective guidance for navigating life's challenges. The overarching theme for his “Leading with Grace” model is “Firm but Fair.”
